Course Description

The EPA 608 certification is a mandatory credential for technicians who work with refrigerants in the United States. This certification is required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, which aims to minimize the release of ozone-depleting substances. Technicians must pass an exam that tests their knowledge on proper handling, recycling, and disposal of refrigerants. The certification is divided into four types: Type I for small appliances, Type II for high-pressure systems, Type III for low-pressure systems, and Universal for all types of equipment.
